ACNM Annual Report Cover 2013

For this cover, ACNM wanted to convey a sense of community, growth and diversity to represent both our membership and organizational goals.

I found stock clip art of a tree with hands as leaves, and reworked it some to create the cover above. Hands are very important symbols to midwives— conveying broader ideas of helping, comforting, and supporting the women they care for, as well as being very practical “tools” used to “catch babies” during delivery. The variation in the styles and colors of hands in the tree graphic represents ACNM’s diverse membership caring for women across many socio-economic, racial and cultural spectrums in different settings (hospitals, birth clinics, client’s homes and more).
